What a fantastic Christmas assembly we had earlier today. You, the student audience, were amazing. Thanks for your great attitude and participation. Loved both the student leaders' video and the teacher video. As usual, a really nice way to start the Christmas break. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year CCI !! Don't forget to come by the library next week to pick up something fun to read over the holidays. We may get lots of snow (or maybe not!) but you can't ski all the time even if there is lots of snow! We have novels, comic books, fun non-fiction, graphic novels and magazines that you can take home to read over the break. This is a good time to get caught up on that book you have been thinking about, but haven't gotten around to just yet! 
Teachers and students are starting to experiment with our new iPads, and one app that has tons of potential is Adobe Voice. This is quite new and provides a really easy way to create very slick looking presentations with built in icons, music, themes, etc. You can add your own photos and narration. We all learn best by doing, so I created a "Welcome to the library" presentation for this website as I figured out how to use Voice. If you have an iPad yourself, you might want to download this free app and give it a try the next time your teacher gives you the opportunity to choose a method of presentation. Or maybe ask your teacher to sign out the school iPads so you can give it a try. |
